I really want to visit NYC. I think I would like to live there for a year or two just to experience the city fully. I have a few friends that think I'm crazy. It'll probably never happen because of cost-of-living, but it's a nice dream. You two sound like you had a wonderful time.
glad to hear that you all had a good time. i hope to go there sometime this year. i've only been there a couple of times and i constantly think about visiting. i don't think i could live there, though.
Radical lace and subversive knitting???? That would have been a very interesting exhibit! I'm having a hard time imagining how knitting can be subversive - and I have a pretty active imagination!
Sounds like a lovely trip! I loved living so close to Manhattan the year I was a nanny. I'd spend whole Saturdays in Central Park. I saw as many shows as I could afford. I ate. And ate. Aaahhh, I ate such wonderful food! Sigh.
Here's the link to the knitting exhibit:
Radical Lace and Subversive Knitting It was pretty cool. Mainly, it was subvervsive/radical in that it reinterpretting or reinventing knitting and lace more than subversive like an anarchist group or something. The last time I went to the Museum of Art and Design I thought that I needed to start finding these types of museums and galleries here in DC, but I never got around to it. I've started looking now.
I've been to NYC once for three days and I loved it. I'm like Booklogged. I think a year would give me time to really get the full experience.
