May 3: A couple things

I'm officially a pro photographer. I had a photoshoot with a high-school senior a week or so ago. It went pretty well and I dropped off a CD yesterday. The family is in my church and I had said that I would shoot him for free since I'm trying to build up my portfolio, but the mom insisted on paying me. So, I'm a pro.
I'm consolidating the places where I'm posting my photos. The good stuff will go on my flickr account (Ben Rasmussen Photography, although there's nothing there, yet) with the cream of the crop also being added to my portfolio on rasmussenphoto.com. Other stuff that I want to show, but that I don't necessarily want associated with my business will just get posted here on furiousblog.

Lastly, today is Cyndi and my 10th anniversary. We're leaving for a few days in NYC in a little while. In addition to staying in a fancy hotel and doing some touristy stuff, we'll also be seeing Too Much Joy in concert. It's their first concert in 10 years. They're doing the show to celebrate the drummer's retirement from the NYPD.

Have a wonderful anniversary in NYC, and enjoy the concert. I wish I could go to that concert as well. The whole time I was reading "The Catcher in the Rye" I kept singing the Holden Caulfield song. I think I"ll pull that CD out and listen to it today.

Happy Anniversary! Wow! Ten years is a long time, congratulations. I'll probably be 60 years old when I finally get around to having a 10-year wedding anniversary! :-)

Congrats on the anniversary, and also on selling some photos. Now you can technically write off the expenses for gear you buy! Although, now that I think about it, I didn't bother when I did my taxes this year.

Their first show in 10 years and your 10 year anniversary - that's romantic. Have a great weekend. I'm glad you are doing something special to celebrate.
