It's good to have Fafblog back; "a noose is just a suicide bomb with a very small blast radius" is the funniest thing I've heard in a long time.

I'm fascinated by traffic and its causes. On my commute, I have a lot of time to consider how different things like different driving styles, road markings signs, and accidents affect traffic flow. I feel that I have a pretty comprehensive understanding of the various factors that affect the drive from Woodbridge, Virginia to McLean, Virginia during the morning and afternoon rush hours.

Of course, there are certain phenomenon that escape explanation. The one that is negatively affecting my commute right now is the end of the school year. What is it about the last few weeks of school that causes traffic to get so much worse? There doesn't seem to be anything about the last few weeks of school that explains the increased traffic, but it is certainly worse. My morning commute, which normally averages just under an hour, has jumped to averaging an hour and a half.

Normally, when dramatic traffic changes occur, there is a logical explanation. Take the beginning of school for example. A lot of people go on vacation during the summer and return right before school gets back in. So, it makes sense that traffic gets worse at that point. But, no one is returning from vacation right now. The busses are all driving the same routes. Nothings changed!

What do you think? Do any of my readers have any theories as to why this happens every year?

I really really do. I just can't eat them. I mean, I can eat some like green beans and broccoli. But, they have to have all of their naturalness cooked out of them first, so they're really vegetables in form only. The problem is that they're really healthy and I need to eat more healthy stuff.

After watching an infomercial (the one perfected art) about some juicer machine, I decided that I could probably stomach getting some vegetable intake in juice form. So, Cyndi bought me some V8 and I just had my first can.

It is without exception the foulest, most vile, disgustingly nasty thing I've ever consumed. Well, it's the foulest, most vile, etc. thing I've ever consumed other than vegetables themselves, so I guess I'll keep with it. A can a day probably won't kill me, although I wouldn't put money on it.

I'm pretty interested in food photography and have been wanting to try it out for a long time now. So, today, I was making some blueberry muffins and decided that they'd be my first food photo attempt.

I was a little rushed because I had to pick up Elise at 8:30 (it was about 8 when I got started) and wanted to get the muffins in the oven so they'd be ready when I got home. So, I had to get the photo gear ready, make the mix, take any ingredient/process shots I wanted, and get the muffins into the oven in about 20 minutes. Sadly, I forgot the eggs, so the muffins were small, dense muffinesque things that both looked ugly and tasted bad.

Argh.

Here's a picture of the blueberries that I took while they were in the colandar. It, too was rushed, so it's not very good either.



I guess taking your time when you're doing two things that require a bit of concentration is a good idea...
